"My recent work explores the connection between colour and shape – taking inspiration from colour theory, colour connotations and visual literacy. Using vitreous enamel enables me to achieve fantastic colours which I contrast with simple oxidised silver settings. The surface finish of the enamel is really important, as a gloss or matt finish can drastically affect the tone of the enamel colour. Each piece is hand finished to highlight the vibrancy of the colour.
Enamel is fundamental in my work, and I am happiest when working with colour. By combining my modern atheistic with traditional enamelling techniques, I can constantly develop my work and challenge the preconceived ideas of enamel jewellery. I create contemporary jewellery that I am truly passionate about."
In 2024, Elizabeth established Enamel Club - a learning studio focused on celebrating vitreous enamel. Enamel Club runs regular classes and sessions, to support those wanting to learn new techniques or develop their skills.
